I dream of visiting Disneyland one day to let my inner child out. I wasn't a Disney girl growing up. Short stories like Sugar Girl were more my thing. Always had a storybook in my hand.

Painfact: we didn't have television growing up. My dad bought one but my mom made him take it away saying it was a distraction.

I didn't miss TV much because I always had books to make up for the imaginary world. My imagination was so vivid that my first relationships were based on how I imagined them to be romantically from reading Nora Roberts. Don't ask me how they ended.

While my mates were acting out their favourite Disney Princesses and dreaming of their Prince Charming, I was busy dreaming of getting pregnant for a handsome billionaire.

But after secondary school, I decided to treat myself to all the princess movies there are. I had all the time in the world because my Jamb score was half the cut-off mark for the course I wanted to study. I wish I could blame it on <a href="https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/adult-adhd/symptoms-causes/syc-20350878">ADHD</a> but I know my case was Olodo's.&nbsp;

In any case, I watched everything Disney and even read everything Princess that Ladybug printed. Thanks to having a younger sister that was obsessed with them.&nbsp;

I was forcefully made to watch Barbie more than 100x because the girl won't let it rest. We watched Barbie to the extent that we started performing karaoke with them. It was a pink hell at first. But I started enjoying it at some point and grew to love it.

I can't hold the excitement of seeing the Barbie movie on a big screen. Margot Robbie going from playing a psycho Barbie in Harley Quinn to playing an actual dream Barbie is the switch we love to see. And my crush (Ryan Gosling), more like every girl's crush, is playing Barbie's Ken.&nbsp;

So, my new dream has shifted from visiting Disneyland to BarbieLand. Yes, it's a real place. You can go watch it on <a href="https://youtu.be/uKgaVlMN7IY">architectural digest</a> on YouTube. I thought the news of the pink paint shortage due to the construction of the Barbie set was an exaggeration,&nbsp; but watching Margot Robbie give the tour of the massive pink city made me realize it wasn't. And it's well worth it.

But until this dream of mine is achieved, it's officially Barbie season and I need a way to connect to the nostalgia. And what better way to do that than to let our inner Barbie spirit out with some cute Barbie-inspired Mani?
