When last did you actually go out? And no, going to work does not count. Neither does your cousin's wedding, the one you attended because your mother said the family will not hear word.

We mean going somewhere because you wanted to have a good time. Exactly. Took you a minute, abi?

This is the exact reason you are single, lonely, with no friends and an absolutely boring life. Anyways, we're not here to judge you. We just have a few things to tell you, and we're not going to mince our words.

The week has gone. The month has gone. Your friends have stopped inviting you, not because they don't like you, but because they're tired of hearing "let me see." At this rate, the next time you come outside, you'll need to reintroduce yourself.

You have one WhatsApp group with 16 members. Since January, somebody has suggested a hangout at least seven times, and every time, sixteen people said "I'm innnn!" with complete sincerity. Yet, 10 months later, not a single plan has been executed.

There's an outfit in your wardrobe you bought in March. It's fine but has turned to a trophy in your wardrobe. Your camera roll and TikTok bookmarks have folders of screenshots of places you want to visit and events you'll "definitely attend" once life settles down. That folder is a vision board for a version of you who goes out, and that person keeps getting postponed.

And the worst part is that you do want to go. You just keep waiting for the right week, the right money and the right group of people, and that combination does not exist.

Lagos is expensive, so plan the one night early

Yes, we know. Nobody is asking you to spend your rent at a table in a club. We're asking for one night, planned early and paid for early, so it doesn't ambush your salary. You need it. You deserve it. You've earned it, and you can get it without breaking the bank.

We organized something specifically for you: VOID HOUSE III: THE FIRE WITHIN on Saturday, November 7, from 9 pm till 6 am. Yes!! We are going outside and you are coming!

The location is Pop Landmark, Oniru Estate, Victoria Island, Lagos Tickets start at ₦8,000. If your one remaining friend is willing to leave the house, Twin Flame admits two for ₦14,000, which is ₦7,000 each and the cheapest way in. There are other options too, including ₦15,000 at the door, but the door is where "I'll let you know" gets expensive.

And please, do not wait until November 6 to start calling people. Agree on transport. Sort your ticket. Find something to wear. Charge your phone. Do the basic things adults do when they want to attend an event.

We are not accepting "I'll let you know" as a reason for missing this one.

Nobody remembers the weekends they stayed in

Nobody has ever said, "Remember that Saturday I watched everybody's Instagram stories from bed?" Exactly, there's nothing memorable about that. You need a memorable night out, and this is it! You'll remember the song that came on at 2 am, somebody's laugh being far too loud, and the ride home when the sun was almost up. That's the stuff.

Your bed knows too much about you already. Your friends deserve to see you in person. Even your favourite outfit is tired of being folded in the wardrobe.

if you spend another weekend at home watching other people live, laugh and dance, you'll be back here in December saying, "Next year, I want to enjoy my life more."

Buy your ticket. Call your people. Make the plan. And if you end up going alone, that's fine. Somebody will dance next to you. That's the whole point of a rave.
