As fashion trends rumbled in 2022, with trends flowing in, there was a rise in several party wears and a timeless appeal for luxury. People started going out again, parties loomed everywhere and fashion trends became more emphatic.

Now what can we expect in 2023? Over Tiktok, we see the Gen-Z going back to the 80s, 90s, and the 2000s fashion, with vintage pieces coming back all over again. The spring/summer runways now show more of sheer pieces and sleek timeless tailored looks.

Reign of the Crochets

In 2023, the crochet core will gain more momentum as it was everywhere in 2022.  With mini skirts, beach wears, flare trousers being the highlights of crochet during the 2022 fashion week. 

So keep an eye for catchy crochet pieces with more graphic design, distressed styles and more. It doesn't end with the basics alone, as we see bags, mufflers, even phone cases having crochet covers.

Sheer culture 

Sheers were big in 2022, and we'll be seeing more of it being incorporated into detailed delicate feminine pieces like tulle sleeves, mesh skirts.

You don't have to break a bank to style these pieces. You can pair a tulle dress with combat boots or a mesh top with your favourite straight-leg jeans to give a chill look.

Yet more nostalgia

The obsession with our past won't be leaving us anytime soon. In the words of Moizant, "the 90s and 2000s nostalgia will remain". If you're planning to retire on the y2k pieces from last year, just know that there are plenty of trends yet to make their comeback and 2023 is the year.
