But there's a middle ground and that is the touch that's affectionate and connecting without being sexual. 

Holding hands while you're watching something together. Long hugs where you actually hold&nbsp;each other, not just a quick squeeze. Sitting close on the couch with your legs touching. Playing with each other's hair. Giving each other massages (shoulders, feet, hands, not erotic zones). So date with a purpose. Choose activities that make you interact, collaborate, or be vulnerable together. Cook a meal as a team. Take a dance class. Go hiking and talk about something deeper. Volunteer together. Create something, paint, build, write. The goal isn't just fun. It's closeness.

Also, avoid dates that amp up sexual tension. Late-night dinners with wine and dim lighting is practically torture, not connection. Save those for later. Right now, you need dates that are engaging and emotionally connecting, without making you both regret your decision.

Step Five: Talk About the Hard Stuff (Before Resentment Builds)
