Reality star Mercy Eke is seeking help after the Central Bank of Nigeria revoked Heritage Bank's operating license. Eke revealed she has over N100 million in her account with the bank.

She explained that she opened the account because Heritage Bank sponsored the fourth edition of Big Brother Naija, which she won. Eke blames her account manager for convincing her to deposit her money there despite knowing the bank's issues.

On Thursday, Eke expressed her frustration on X (formerly Twitter), saying, "I really don’t know how to react about this... I have been hoping for the best, thinking there’s a way out... #HeritageBank."

When a fan asked if she had an account with the bank, Eke confirmed, "I do... and have above 100m with them." Another fan questioned why she opened the account, to which she replied, "That was the bank that sponsored BBN during my season. We were advised to open accounts with them to get paid. I regret funding the account now."

A concerned fan asked about her account manager's response. Eke replied, "She lured me into fixing my money, knowing the bank had issues. I blame myself."

Eke has submitted a notice to the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Commission (NDIC) to recover her money. The NDIC has started liquidating Heritage Bank, prioritizing refunds for those with N5 million or less in their accounts.
