In an era where sex is no longer a thing of shame for all genders, sex toys have been around for years to help in the journey of sexual pleasure and exploration. There is no denying that most of the sex toys produced are female-inclined, but in recent times, male sex toys have become more prominent in our lives. There are varieties of male sex toys that you can invest in without any shame; cock rings, strokers, male vibrator wands, fleshlight, tenga egg, and many more. But are men, particularly Nigerian men, open to exploring their sexual delights through toys, or are they willing to stick to what they’ve been used to? It’s quite fascinating and almost unbelievable that the male gender in Nigeria has a lot of negative reactions and opinions to male sex toys. For a gender that can put their sexual pleasure above most things, it was a shocker when most of the interviewees did not buy the idea of having a sex toy as a man. Although there were a few who indulged in the idea but they were still a bit sceptical to invest in sex toys for their pleasure. Do Nigerian men believe that owning a male sex toy makes you less of a man? Because when the topic was brought up, most of them turned it into a forbidden situation, and listening to their reactions was quite amusing.

Confession: I actually own a vibrator. Now, before you judge, hear me out. Hand jobs with a vibrator are complete game changers; whether you’re doing this yourself or your girl is, regardless of the situation, believe me when I say the orgasm that comes from it, every man should be able to experience it without shame. I have yet to explore other toys, but it is something I’m currently working on because the experience I have gotten from owning a vibrator is too wonderful to deny myself more of that pleasure. I actually think that men who use sex toys are cowards who think they can’t get a girl because imagine lying in your room making use of a sex toy. “Ahhhhh!” the sight alone will traumatize me; I’d rather you walk in on me having sex than use a sex toy. I’d prefer my mother catches me in bed with a woman than a sex toy. I also believe that sex toys, for both genders, destroy the sensation and pleasure you’re supposed to feel from actual sex because the pleasure you get from a machine cannot be the same feeling you get from a man or a woman. So please, my boss, drop that sex toy, go out there and find a woman.

As a man?!!!! God forbid, why would you do that to yourself as a man? I’d rather beat my meat to orgasm than let a machine do that for me. I don’t mind using a vibrator on my woman. I love the idea of giving my woman maximum pleasure, but a sex toy for myself as a man can never happen. It just seems very unnatural. Like, what happened to your hand? What happened to women?&nbsp; Why would you degrade yourself to that level? Please don’t do that to yourself.

I’m not against using sex toys at all, although I’ve never been opportune to try. It’s something I’ve never thought of because it’s not really popular among Nigerian men in particular, but I believe in different strokes for different folks. Personally, I don’t think I’d be investing my money in male sex toys; it seems really weird in general.

A man should not own a sex toy, a man should never consider a sex toy, and a man should avoid getting pleasure from a sex toy. Why would you even think of a sex toy as a fully grown adult male? If you’re a young horny teenager still learning and understanding the ropes when it comes to sex, sure, give it a go, but why would you, as a man, big man, lie on your bed and decide to get an orgasm from an artificial vagina, there is absolutely no ecstasy as amazing as an orgasm from having sex with a woman, particularly a woman you love.

I don’t own a sex toy, but I think I have sincerely considered getting one but the controversies surrounding a man owning a sex toy are quite embarrassing, especially in Nigeria. During my travels, people don’t really consider it a big deal, but here in Nigeria it seems like an abomination. But I don’t think owning a sex toy is wrong; if anything, I think it should be encouraged for two particular reasons. Firstly, it would reduce the idea of young boys going on a sex spree, increasing their body counts unnecessarily, and contracting various STDs. Secondly, I am of the belief that with sex toys, you learn how to last longer in bed; you train yourself to hold off your orgasm at least till your woman is ready.

My answer is quite simple, No I do not own a sex toy, neither will I ever consider getting one, and I don’t think any man should ever consider getting one. I believe it breeds timid and perverted men who end up with malicious sexual fantasies.

It was quite surprising yet understandable listening to these men issue out their opinions on this topic and from everything, their reaction and ideology boils down to society. Society has influenced men into believing that certain forms of pleasure are specifically for women, but that is not entirely true.
